Wow! The previous message was published in mid-Feb...

Sorry for not keeping you updated. My last college year is really that busy, and i've been prefering to spend all the computer-dedicated free time working on the Editor.

But there is definitely good news for all of us.
Well, let's start:
  1. The new project's name is RED MC. Here is how it goes ))) : RED MC <- RED Modding Center <- REDitor <- Roster Editor. Why RED Modding Center? Because i have big plans for the project, which will be brought to life, once i graduate from college. Basically, it will be an even more advanced roster editor + an incredible IFF-files editor. But that's for the future.
  2. The project is currently in the late Beta-stage. We have a stable version, so it's only left to make the purchasing & auto-update systems, finish the documentation and do all pre-release routines (make a web-site, an icon, an installer, etc.)
  3. I'll set and tell the approximate release date this week (the approximation will include a range of 2-4 days).
Here is a screenshot of what you will get, guys ;) :

The other hand news:
Clone & Delete won't be possible in the initial release, along with Roster Exchanger. These and several other advanced editing features will be added to the second release.

You can watch JaoSming working with one of the early Betas live here (click).
He will probably make another session with the latest Beta some time soon. Maybe i will join him as well. So, if you have any Qs, you'll be able to ask him (or maybe even me directly) during the next session.

Yours,
Vlad

PS: Three more of my favourite Ukrainian & USSR(Russian) rock songs (listen to, making breaks between the songs, to get the best enjoyment ;) ):

Hello, everybody!

It's nearly 1am here, so i will be short, as tomorrow i need to attend my college classes. :)

First of all, guys, thank you for your support and your patience!

This year's new file format and some new ideas about the roster-editing process made me start making a completely new tool from scratch. Many great REDitor II architectual ideas are used, some new ones are added, but the sources are nearly all new. This is one of the reasons for the slower-than-previous-years development process. The other one is some my IRL problems, which shouldn't worry you much, i suppose. They are mostly connected with the fact, i'm on my senior year to get the Bachelor's degree in IT.

I get lots of messages about the potential release date. We have some approximate Beta version plans, but currently i don't want to tell any public release date. Last months showed that extreme busy-ness can get out of nothing, breaking many plans. I don't like to make empty promises, so let's wait until the tool is in its Beta stage before seting any exact dates.
If you read this Blog, then you can be sure, you'll be the first to know the date once it is set. So, do not worry. ;)

There is some good news as well, of course. :)
Here is the very first screen of the new Editor. It's an early Pre-Alpha, so the final version will certainly look more neat and will be much more functional. :) I'm working on this nearly every day. :) Hope, your editing experience expectations will be satisfied. :)

Best wishes,
Vlad

Hello, NBA fans!

I haven't updated the Blog for quite a while due to some "real-life business". Nevertheless, i have finished decoding all those hundreds of parameters, you will be able to edit soon. ;)
Now getting to the actual editor-building.

The list of the new decoded parameters follows:

Playbooks tab:

Player Stats tab:

Team Stats tab:

Name Datas tab:

Jerseys tab (thanks to JaoSming for his assistance):

Headshapes tab:

Rotations (Special Teams data) tab:

Game Records tab:

Awards tab:

Hall Of Fame tab:

Some side notes:

1) There are 2 Playbooks tabs this year. The purpose of the second one hasn't been defined yet. It is supposedly used for on-line gaming.

2) YearReplacer of Player Stats tab is the field, we lacked last year to make historical players have their real, not modern, years in stats. So, this is another issue, which will be possible to handle this year.

3) There were several other tabs found, which are not mentioned above. Their purpose is unknown; or it was detected, that they are deprecated. Means, they won't be editable via the Editor, though will be handled on inner levels for compatibility. There is a possibility though, some of them are used in MyCareer mode. If it is true, the tabs will become editable.

As i'm starting to make the actual Editor, i'd like to tell a couple of words about its future GUI. The goal is to implement all the functions, REDitor II has, plus add several improvements to MyFriend Interfaces. A more convinient filtering system and some Help system are also things to be introduced.

The inner side of the Editor will be completely different, however. I have big plans for the project, so it should be as flexible for improvements as possible. New features, compared to REDitor II, will be coming along after the initial release.

If you have some suggestions about the potential editable fields or about possible GUI improvements, please, post them in the RED Editor 2K13 Official Development Thread (click)

Yours,
Vlad

And a couple of songs, you might like. :) They are not gangsta rap at all, but nice Ukrainian romantic songs. :)

Hello, everyone!

I'm sorry for not providing you with any news throughout November. Unfortunately, this semester has continued being busy with different college tasks, also not the best project management... so, the overall progress isn't that good, as expected.
Anyway, we finished with the implementation of tools, which use the new technique. Also i'm done with Players tab.
The list of decoded fields follows (371 total):

If there are fields (belonging to Players tab), which are not decoded yet, but you'd like to have them editable, you can write a note in the following thread:
